More Than Your Driving Record Affects Insurance Rates

Posted: Updated:

Did you know that your car insurance rate depends on more than your driving record? Your age, your gender and even your marital status affect how much you pay for protection.

According to a new Insurance Quotes dot com report, younger drivers tend to pay more than older drivers. Premiums generally go down with age, but when you turn 60, rates start to go up a little each year.

Women usually pay less than men, in fact a 20-year-old woman pays on average 23-percent less than a 20-year-old man for the same policy. And young adults who are married also often pay less than single people the same age.

Of course, accidents, moving violations and even arrests will kick your premiums way up, provided you're not canceled.
