Former LSU player shot, in serious condition

SULPHUR, La. (KALB News Channel 5) -- A former LSU linebacker is in serious condition after police say he was shot by another former player last night in Sulphur.

Sulphur Police say 36-year-old, Brandon Winey, is charged with attempted second degree murder after shooting 24-year-old, Tahj Jones, at an apartment complex.

Police say Jones went to the apartment complex to visit a female friend. Shortly after, Winey showed up and the two started arguing. That's when police say Winey shot Jones in the abdomen.

Police say Winey fled the scene and was arrested shortly after.

Jones was transferred to Alexandria from Lake Charles late last night.
