Rapides Library celebrates Easter

Posted: Updated:

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) -- About 100 children put on their bunny ears and went for an Easter egg hunt Wednesday at the Rapides Parish Main Library.

It was part of the library's Easter "Eggstravaganza."

The morning started off with storytelling and Easter theme sing-a-longs before heading to a garden behind the library for the egg hunt.

The library says the program is geared to getting kids in the holiday spirit, all while introducing them to the wonders of the library.

"You're never too young to come to the library," said Karla Kirby of the Rapides Parish Library. "We want you to be used to being at the library, being around books. Knowing it's a fun place and a place where you should be comfortable."

The library has been hosting their Easter program for more than 20 years. They say they're always impressed by the strong turnout.
