Pineville man facing 34 charges of criminal activity

RAPIDES PARISH, La. (KALB News Channel 5) RPSO arrest man on charges of burglary, theft, criminal damage.

Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office Deputies arrested a Pineville man after responding to a burglary on Stilly Rd., Pineville. The victim said the residence had been broken into multiple times in the past three years. Detectives identified Joshua Joseph New as a suspect and contacted him.

RPSO said New admitted to detectives that he had broken into the residence, and he led them to the location of the stolen items. New later confessed to 16 additional burglaries throughout the Pineville area. 

Detectives arrested New for 16 counts of Simple Burglary, 16 counts of Criminal Damage and two counts of Felony Theft. New was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center where he remains on a $170,000.00 bond. Detectives said more arrests are expected to be made in this case.
