ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - More than 150 people turned out to take part in a passion walk in Alexandria.
The walk began at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral and ended at Our Lady of Prompt Succor on Elliott Street.
Each participant carried a nail to represent Christ's suffering that he endured on the cross.
The walk symbolizes the final hours of Jesus Christ's life on earth.
"This is a way that we can honor Christ who gave his life for us so that we may have eternal life with him," said Bill Aldridge, an OLPS parishioner.
This was the second year for the event which organizers say continues to gain more walkers.
