Four arrested in Alexandria drug bust

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - On April 18, 2014, officers with the Alexandria Police were patrolling the area of 2200 block of MacArthur Drive, when they noticed Adam Nick in a vehicle.

Nick was known to have an active warrant. The officers said they made contact with Nick and he appeared to be very nervous. The officers said they observed a digital scale on the floorboard of the vehicle, in plain view.

Nick was arrested and a K-9 unit was called to the scene. Suspected heroin was found in the vehicle and the narcotic investigators were notified.

During a subsequent search of a residence in the Pineville area the officers arrested Sean Bennett and Ashley Bennett. The officers located 7 grams of suspected Heroin in three plastic bags and 95 pieces of tinfoil containing suspected Heroin weighing approximately 9 grams.

Derric Smith was arrested and charged with possession of Marijuana or synthetic cannabinoid, possession and distribution of schedule II (cocaine, heroin), possession and distribution of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Adam Nick was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoid possession of schedule I (marijuana), possession and distribution of schedule II( cocaine, heroin)and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sean Bennett was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice, resisting and officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ashley Bennett was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice, resisting an officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.
This investigation is still under investigation.
