RAPIDES PARISH, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - On Monday, a single vehicle crash killed a woman from Holden, La. and injured a teenager.  The teenager driver is suspected of driving impaired and has been charged and booked, according to Louisiana State Police.

Troopers responded to the crash around 3:20 p.m., which occurred on LA Hwy 116 at LA Hwy 28.  The crash involved a 2000 Dodge Neon, driven by 18-year-old Trinity J. Sullivan of Holden.  LSP reports the Dodge was eastbound on LA Hwy 116, traveling at a high rate of speed, which resulted in the vehicle vaulting over LA Hwy 28 and impacting Barron Chapel Road.  After impact with Barron Chapel Road, the vehicle collided with a utility pole and then a tree.

Sullivan was wearing his seatbelt.  He received minor injuries, but refused aid.  His only passenger, identified as 38-year-old Brenda A. Starns, was wearing her seatbelt.  Despite wearing her seatbelt, she was pronounced dead.

Sullivan was charged with vehicular homicide and reckless operation of a vehicle.  He was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center.

Routine toxicology tests are pending.  The crash remains under investigation.
