Sheriff Sam Craft of the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office announces recent arrests as follows:

April 18, 2014

Patrick Sean Benoit, age 30, of Shelbyville, Tennessee. Benoit was arrested on one count of Domestic Abuse Battery. Bond was set at $ 1000.00. Benoit did post bond and was released.

Matthew Peter Ellias, age 20, of Leesville, La. Ellias was arrested on one count of False Swearing and one count of Criminal Mischief for filling a false police report. Bond was set at $ 3500.00. Ellias did post bond and was released.

April 19, 2014

Charles Ponder, age 42, of Leesville, La. Ponder was arrested and charged with one count of Domestic Abuse Battery. Bond was set at $ 1000.00. Ponder did post bond and was released.

Summer Extine, age 19, of Alexandria, La. Extine was arrested on one count of Burglary and one count of Theft. Bond was set at $ 15,000.00. Extine remains in the Vernon Parish Jail.

James Richard Maddox, age 27, of Leesville. Maddox was arrested on one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, one count of Possession of Marijuana (2nd Offense)one count of Possession of Schedule IV, one count of Possession of Schedule II, and one count of Possession of a Legend Drug. Bond was set at $ 21,000.00. Maddox posted bond and was released.

Kandi Leigh Foster, age 26, of Leesville. Foster was arrested and charged with one count of Possession of Paraphernalia and one count of Possession of Schedule I (2nd Offense). Bond was set at $6000.00. Foster remains in the Vernon Parish Jail.

April 20, 2014

Marlin R. Sherk, age 36, of Leesville. Sherk was arrested and charged with one count of Simple Battery. Bond was set at $ 350.00. Sherk posted bond and was released.

April 21, 2014

Martin Lee Cole, age 38, of Leesville. Cole was arrested and charged with one count of Disturbing the Peace. Bond was surrendered on six previous charges. Cole remains in the Vernon Parish Jail.

Leah Ann Brinkley, age 39, of Leesville. Brinkley was arrested on a traffic offense bench warrant. Bond was set at $ 398.00. Brinkley posted bond and was released.

Natasha Wright, age 36, of New Llano, La. Wright was arrested on an out of jurisdiction warrant. Wright was transferred to a facility in Coushatta.

Allen R. Williams, Jr., age 38, of DeRidder, La. Williams was arrested on a Bench Warrant. Bond was set at $ 5000.00. Williams remains in the Vernon Parish Jail.

Colby Andrew Gordy, age 21, of New Llano, La. Gordy was arrested on a Bench Warrant. Gordy remains in the Vernon Parish Jail.

Kembel Purnel Derouen, age 48, of Leesville, La. Derouen was arrested and charged with one count of Domestic Abuse Battery. No bond has been set at the time of this release. Derouen remains in the Vernon Parish Jail.
