BALL, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - On April 21, 2014, the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office Metro Division received a complaint of suspected narcotic sales at 1405 La 1204, lot #48 in Ball.

Deputies said they drove through the area and located a subject identified as Kaleb Malone, 19, of Pineville, who matched the description given.

Deputies explained the complaint and while talking to Malone, noticed what appeared to be the butt of a pistol protruding from his rear pants pocket, RPSO reported.

Malone was detained without incident and the .380 caliber loaded handgun was secured.  Deputies learned that Malone was a convicted felon, prohibited from possessing firearms.

Malone was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center and booked for Illegal Carry of Firearms for the concealed weapon and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Malone is currently being held without bond.
