SARASOTA, Fla. and FAIRFIELD, Calif., April 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Debbie's Swim School and U.S. Masters Swimming announce that Debbie's Swim School will begin offering Masters Swimming® programs at its Swim School locations, providing greater access and opportunity for adults to swim. DSS currently operates 16 swim schools, 14 of which are located at In-Shape Health Clubs in Northern California, throughout the Bay Area and Central Valley, and is planning to expand to more locations by the end of the year.
"The mission of DSS is to prevent drownings and help people achieve their swimming goals," says Debbie Koenig, owner of DSS. "We do this by creating a positive learning experience for all students, no matter their skill level. "Masters Swimming is an adult aquatic fitness program that will complement my current program by giving my adult students an opportunity to continue swimming beyond the learn-to-swim phase."
Bill Brenner, U.S. Masters Swimming's club and coach services director, agrees. "Once adults learn to swim, they need to practice their new skills. In addition, we want them to be able to enjoy the lifetime fitness and social benefits of organized group swimming. Many adult swimming programs don't have learn-to-swim lessons, so Debbie's Swim School is providing a critical service, and U.S. Masters Swimming wants to be there with resources for these new swimmers when they're ready to swim for fitness, triathlons, or even pool competition if they desire."
All DSS instructors are trained in the latest techniques, teaching methods, and hydrodynamics of swimming. They understand that no two students are the same and will customize lessons to meet each individual student's needs and personal swim goals. This approach ensures that DSS graduates will find long-term success with USMS certified coaches who also understand the importance of individual goals and progress.
