ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5)--An Alexandria lawyer is in the running  for Rapides district court judge.

Clifton J. Spears will be running for Donald Johnson's seat in Division A. Spears has practiced law for the past 21 years  - 18 of those years were spent representing juveniles. News Channel 5 asked Spears to tell us what makes him a good candidate for the job.

I'm good at this because of my temperament. I'm even-tempered, I'm analytical, I'm going to respond as what says the law or what makes practical sense under the premises," he said.

Spears graduated from Peabody High School in 1976 and Dillard University in 1980.
