University Academy chooses school director

Posted: Updated:
ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News channel 5)- The University Academy of Central Louisiana has chosen the school's inaugural leader.

DeEtte Loyd is a native of Pine Prairie, Louisiana. She'll be serving as the school's director when the doors open for the first time on August 6th.

Loyd says that she's thrilled to have the opportunity to get the school off and running.

"The opportunity to lead this school is just amazing because of the type of students that we're going to service and the advantages that we're going to give these students for their futures," says Loyd.

There are still a few slots available for students who may want to enroll but you've got to get your application in fast- the deadline is April 30th. On May 1st there will be a meet and greet for students who have been accepted. It will take place at 6:30pm in the LSUA Ballroom. It's a chance for students to get to know each other and meet the faculty and staff.
