APD arrest two 17-year-olds in Academy break-in

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5)  Teens arrested after breaking into local business.

Two 17-year-olds are facing charges of Simple Burglary after Police responded to an intrusion alarm at Academy Sporting Goods in Alexandria. 

The Alexandria Police Department said officers arrived at the store and were met by an employee who told them the alarm went off after she locked the doors at closing time, and she saw two males inside the store. Police found the suspects hiding behind some boxes on display shelves at the back of the store.

APD arrested Gatloyn Blue and Tavares Owens, both of Alexandria, without incident and booked them into the Rapides Parish Jail

APD said the case remains under investigation.
