Suspect arrested in Alexandria jewelry burglary

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - On April 15, 2014, deputies responded to the 700 block of Herron Circle, in Alexandria in reference to a burglary. 

Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office reported the victim advised approximately $10,000.00 worth of jewelry had been stolen from his residence. 

During the investigation RPSO discovered a portion of the jewelry had been sold to a local gold shop who paid out $600.00 for the jewelry. 

With the evidence obtained from the investigation, a warrant was issued for Amy Carriker Stanley Chambers, 27, for 1 count of Simple Burglary and 1 count of Theft over $500<$1,500. 

Chambers was arrested April 28 and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center.  She was later released on a $5,000.00 bond. 

Detectives say the investigation is still ongoing.
