Monroe man convicted of rape given two life sentences

MONROE, La. (AP) - State District Judge Wilson Rambo has sentenced a Monroe man to two life sentences plus 30 years for six charges, including aggravated rape and kidnapping.

A Ouachita Parish jury found Terrresz Robinson guilty in February of two counts of aggravated rape, one count of attempted second-degree kidnapping, second-degree kidnapping, carjacking and theft.

On Thursday, Rambo sentenced each count individually, assessing the maximum penalty on all counts.

The News-Star reports ( ) Robinson was arrested Jan. 30, 2013, after police responded to a reported carjacking and attempted kidnapping.

Defense attorney Charles Kincade said he will appeal the case to the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeal in Shreveport.
