Rapides After Hours now open

Posted: Updated:
ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – Rapides Regional Medical Center adds Alexandria location.

Rapides After Hours Urgent Care has expanded – to Alexandria. The site, located at 3800 Jackson Street Ext., is now open. Hours of operation are Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday/Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“We opened our first After Hours Urgent Care in Pineville two years ago and have been told by our patients that they appreciate the extended hours and quality care provided by a name they trust,” said Jason Cobb, Rapides Regional Medical Center chief executive officer. “Now, we want to offer that same service, that same trust, to our patients in Alexandria.”

The Alexandria location will offer even longer office hours, so those needing urgent care before 1 p.m. during the week can find it there.

Rapides After Hours provides walk-in care for minor illnesses and injuries. Conditions treated include ear and eye infections, fever, minor cuts that may need stitches, possible broken bones or simple fractures, minor skin infections, severe sore throat, sprains and strains, vomiting and diarrhea, and work related injuries. The center is not intended for medical emergencies.

“This is not a primary care office, though anyone who needs a primary care physician or needing follow-up care will be referred to an RRMC physician,” Cobb said. “This center, just like our center in Pineville, specializes in urgent care medical treatment without appointments or long wait times.”
