Baker Manufacturing celebrate 60 years

PINEVILLE, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – On Wednesday, May 7, 2014, Pineville Mayor Clarence Fields and the Buckeye High School Marching Band will join in an event celebrating Baker Manufacturing Company’s 60th Anniversary.

The Anniversary Event will take place from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on the grounds of Baker Manufacturing’s headquarters located at 75 Wadley Street in Pineville. Beginning at 11:00 a.m., employees will be greeted by the sounds of the Buckeye High School Marching Band as they walk the red carpet to the celebration luncheon.

During the luncheon, Mayor Fields will present a proclamation to the company naming May 7 as “Baker Manufacturing Day.” James (Rusty) Baker, Jr., the founder’s son and Chairman of the Board, and Charles E. Martin, the company’s CEO, will make special presentations to the ten employees who have been with the company for 30 or more years.

The ceremonies will end with a presentation of an American Flag that was flown over the US Capitol in celebration of the company and their contributions to the economic growth of Central Louisiana. The event is open to the media and reserved parking is available on Wadley Street near the company’s office entrance.


Baker Manufacturing Company, Inc. was established in 1954 by James R. Baker, Sr. with a goal to create jobs and improve the economy in Central Louisiana. Today, the company employees over one-hundred people and is a leading manufacturer of height-adjustable worksettings and tables.
