Senator Mary Landrieu Hosts Video Chat With Avoyelles Students

Posted: Updated:

MANSURA, La. (KALB News Channel 5)--Some students at the Avoyelles Public Charter School got the chance to video chat with one of our senators Wednesday morning.

Senator Mary Landrieu held the chat with four charter schools from across the state.  The senator talked with the students about her job representing Louisiana in Washington D.C.  Landrieu even took questions from some of the students.  One of those students was Tanner Phillips, who says it was  great to get to interact with the senator.

"It was really an awesome experience to have her answer it in real time, instead of writing a letter and waiting and, it was just an awesome experience," Phillips said.

The other three schools participating in yesterday's chat were from Farmerville, Lake Charles and Baton Rouge.
