Former Cheneyville mayor facing more charges

CHENEYVILLE, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - The former mayor of Cheneyville has been arrested on additional charges.

Reginald Allen was arrested on May 7th and charged with stalking and cyber-stalking, 1st offense.

According to RPSO, he was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center before posting a $5,500 bond.

Allen was also arrested on May 5th by the Cheneyville Police Department and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm. 

According to police, the victim came to the station to file a complaint - and told police Allen threatened her and showed a firearm. 

Officers then went to Allen's home and took him in for questioning. 

The new charges stem from the same investigation.
