ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) — Central Louisiana Technical Community College (CLTCC) is proud to announce that Alexandria Mayor Jacques M. Roy will deliver the keynote address at its 2014 Spring Commencement on Friday, May 16.  The ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. in the Riverfront Center, 707 Main Street, Alexandria, Louisiana.

Mayor Roy is a lifelong resident of Alexandria.  He graduated with honors from Holy Savior Menard Central High School.  He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and a law degree.  Since becoming mayor of Alexandria in 2006, he has implemented Special Planned Activity Redevelopment Corridors (SPARC), a $96 million infrastructure investment project, the largest redevelopment plan in the city’s history.

Approximately 200 graduates from the college’s main campus in Alexandria and its six extension sites in Cottonport, Ferriday, Jena, Leesville, Oakdale and Winnfield are expected to participate in Friday’s ceremony.

The graduates will be receiving technical certificates, technical diplomas and associate degrees.  CLTCC faculty members will be in attendance – in full academic regalia – to honor these students.
