APD investigating apparent homicide in Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - On May 9, 2014, the Alexandria Police were dispatched to 4015 Lakeside in reference to a death investigation.

Upon arrival, APD reported the officers were contacted by family members of the victim.

They advised the officers that a female member of the family was found deceased in the apartment.

It was determined by the ambulance service and members of the fire department that the victim was in fact deceased. It was determine that the death was not natural and was in fact a homicide, APD said.

At this time detectives and crime scene investigators were contacted and the scene was released to them.

Rapides Parish School officials became concerned when the mother of one of a child was not at the bus stop to pick up the child, as she usually was, according to APD. They contacted relatives who checked the apartment and located the body.

The victim is Pamela Carnahan, 33, of Alexandria. If anyone has any information in reference to this crime please call Crime Stoppers or the Alexandria Police Department.

This investigation is still under investigation.
