Cabrini School gets new smart board

Posted: Updated:
ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) --  St. Frances Cabrini School has just purchased a new smart board for students that doesn't rely on a projector, but rather an LCD screen.

The $5,000 piece of technology was purchased about three weeks ago.

Cabrini School is the first in Rapides Parish to have the board.
Staff say students use it everyday for things like the "super kid" program and spelling. And, the kids really love it.

"It makes things like spelling words come to life or sentence dictations come to life," said Liz Hines of Cabrini School. "It has kind of gone with our revamping of the school and our technology this year."

The school also recently purchased 30 new computers to use in the fall.
