Cherokee students sing for summer

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - The end of the school year is near, and one school is celebrating good behavior.

Cherokee Elementary School held an end-of-the-year PBIS party.

Students selected by their teachers for good behavior had the chance to sing karaoke and eat popcorn. About 60 students got to skip class to have some fun.

"It is very important to recognize positive behavior because that is a way for students to say that is something I can look forward to, I want to do that next year, I want to get my name in the hat to draw for PBIS," said Lorie Miller, a Cherokee teacher.
