Theft forgery arrest in Boyce

BOYCE, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - On May 8, 2014, Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the 100 block of Clifton Road in reference to theft.

Upon arrival, RPSO reported they contacted the victim and discovered that several checks were stolen.  Deputies made contact with the suspect, identified as Scott Allen Tyler, 25, of Boyce, and he was arrested on the Theft. 

Tyler was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center and later released on a $250 bond. 

On May 9, detectives from the Boyce Sub-station were contacted by the victim who discovered more forged checks and a stolen aluminum canoe, according to RPSO. 

Detectives investigated the allegations and found enough probable cause to secure warrants for Tyler’s arrest for Forgery and Theft.

Detectives located the stolen canoe at a local scrap yard. 

On May 10, detectives arrested Tyler on 24 counts of Forgery and 2 counts of Theft <$500.  Tyler remains in the Rapides Parish Detention Center on a $37,000.00 bond.
