RAPIDES PARISH, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - On May 24, 2014 at approximately 8:30 a.m., Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office deputies responded to Marie Lane off of Kisatchie Point to a report of shots fired in the area.

Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the victim who stated a woman, later identified as Betty Lorraine Johnson, 72, of Boyce, came to their residence and fired shots into the residence.

The victim stated Johnson then got in her vehicle and drove away, according to RPSO.  No injuries were reported.  Detectives and Crime Scene responded and conducted the investigation.

Later, detectives secured a warrant for Johnson for 1 count of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder.  After searching for Johnson, Deputies located her later that night at the Cotile Recreation Area where she was taken into custody without incident.

Firearms were found in her possession at the time of the arrest.  RPSO detectives say they have not determined the motive of the shooting and Johnson remains in the Rapides Parish Detention Center on a $250,000.00 bond.

Detectives say the investigation is still ongoing.
