Drug arrest made after traffic stop in Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - On May 22, 2014, officers with Alexandria Police Department were on patrol in the area of North Mall Drive when they observed a traffic violation.

The stop was made and after noticing the passenger moving around, the officer made contact with a white male, later identified as Kodi Randy Albright, 23, of Woodworth, who was hiding his hands, according to APD.

After an investigation the officers located a small plastic bag containing what is believed to be crystal meth. Both suspects were arrested and transported to RPSO for further booking.

Albright, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of crystal meth and drug paraphernalia.

The driver, Heather Derbonne, 31, of Pineville, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of CDS IV and improper tail lights, reported APD.

This case is still under investigation and no further details are available at this time.
