Arrest made in Pineville vehicle theft

PINEVILLE, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - On April 19, 2014, Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a complaint of a theft from the 300 block of Barron Chapel Road in Pineville. 

The victim stated that his 1997 Dodge 3500 truck and his 1987 Toyota SR5 truck had been stolen from his residence, according to RPSO. 
 
Detectives initiated their investigation and a suspect identified as Chase Randell Pape, 23, of Pineville, was established.

Detectives learned that Pape allegedly had sold the 1997 Dodge truck to an individual for parts. 

Detectives recovered the Dodge truck and it was returned to the victim.  RPSO stated further into the investigation, it was learned that Pape had sold the 1987 Toyota truck for scrap. 

On May 16, 2014, Chase Pape was located by detectives and was placed under arrest for 3 counts of Trespassing, 2 counts of Theft of a Motor Vehicle <500 and 2 counts of Theft and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center. 

Pape was released on May 21 on a $10,750.00 bond.
