A Stationary front is creating an area of low pressure. This feature is interacting with a broad area of low pressure, aloft. The combination of these features is producing widespread cloudiness and an area of disorganized shower & thunderstorm activity across much of the Eastern half of the Gulf of Mexico (stretching to the Yucatan Peninsula and Bay of Campeche.
Environmental conditions are expected to remain unfavorable for development as this system stays fairly stationary through much of the week.
Tropical development during the next 48 hours is low (near 0%) and low (<10%) during the next 5 days.
