The World Loves To Fly But Some Airlines Struggle

Posted: Updated:

(NBC) The world loves to fly. The traveling public is expected to spend some 746-billion dollars globally on air travel this year.
But amazingly, out of that huge amount of money. the  average profit an airline makes on each passenger is just 5-dollars-and-42-cents. That's according to the International Air Transport Association.

While five-dollars-and-42-cents is a low number....it's a big improvement over just two year ago. The I-A-T-A says then the average annual post-tax profit per passenger was just 2-dollars-and-5-cents.
