APD, US Marshals make robbery arrest

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - On June 5, 2014, Alexandria Police Department detectives, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, arrested Rysheed Williams, 20, of Alexandria and charged him with 1 count of Armed Robbery, 1 count Attempted 1st Degree Murder.

On May 31, 2014 at approximately 2:30 a.m., Alexandria Police Department responded to the 5300 Block of Lacassine Drive in reference to a shots fired complainant.

Upon officer’s arrival, they located a male victim in the street that had been shot. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries. The victim was later released.

The scene was secured with detectives and crime scene called in to assist. The investigation found that the victim was shot during an individual robbery attempt.

APD detectives were able to identify Williams as the suspect in this case and later secured a warrant for his arrest.

Williams was located at a residence in the 2000 Block of Orchard Lane in Alexandria and taken into custody without incident.

Williams was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center for Booking.There are no other details regarding this investigation available for release at this time.
