Blame The TSA For Higher Airline Ticket Fees

Posted: Updated:
(NBC) You'll pay more to fly starting next month, and it "could" be "much" more than congress intended.

Transportation security administration fees will rise in July. Congress agreed to raise the fees, according to "USA Today", but nominally, two dollars and fifty cents for a non-stop flight, for example.  But the paper reports the TSA wants to change the definition of a "round trip", opening the door to higher fees.

Consumer and airline industry groups oppose the plan, and lawmakers say they never intended for the TSA to go this far. The paper reports the TSA'S administrator says the fees will affect all travelers equally for a one way trip, and nothing in the law defined a round-trip.
