RPSO: Stolen Items from Storage Units Recovered

Posted: Updated:

(KALB News Channel 5) -- On June 16, 2014, Deputies responded to a report of a burglary of some storage buildings located on Highway 28 East in Pineville, LA. Detectives from the Tioga Sub-Station also responded.

During the investigation, Tioga Detectives developed a suspect and a possible location where items of this burglary were possibly taken. A search warrant was obtained and was executed at 1915 Jackson Street, Alexandria, LA. Stolen Items from the burglary at the storage buildings were located in this search along with other stolen items from another burglary in Rapides Parish. Two arrests were made.

Since then, Detectives have been working to identify the owners of some of the other items located in the search warrant. Due to what was found and the condition of the items found and how they were transported, Detectives suspect they were also taken in the burglary of a storage unit.

“If anyone has had items stolen from a storage unit in Rapides Parish and made a police report within the past year and your property has not been returned to you, please contact Detective Lt. Keith Perkins at the Tioga Detectives at 318-641-6000” said Sheriff William Earl Hilton.

“Also, if you have a storage unit, you may want to check it to make sure your property is still there and your locks have not been changed. Our Detectives are working diligently to get this property back in the hands of the rightful owners.”
