GPSO: 2 Arrests made during Burglary

PROSPECT, La. (KALB News Channel 5) -- The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary in progress in the Prospect community on June 19, 2014. 

When deputies arrived, they discovered a female, identified as Sheri Brewer, opening a gate for a vehicle attempting to leave the property. The driver of the vehicle, who was later identified as Michael Houston, left the woman and fled in the car to the back of the property and crashed into a tree.

Houston ran on foot, and when caught by deputies, physically resisted arrest. He also gave deputies a false name. 

Michael Houston, 29 of Pineville, was arrested for Simple Burglary, Resisting by Force, Resisting by False Information, Obstruction of Justice, Criminal Trespassing, and two outstanding warrants. 

Sheri Brewer, 34 of Pineville, was arrested for Simple Burglary, Criminal Trespassing, an outstanding warrant from Rapides Parish and one from Grant Parish.
