No Fly List Ruled Unconstitutional

Posted: Updated:
(NBC) The 'no-fly list' - the travel ban on thousands of people who are believed to be a security threat - has been ruled unconstitutional by a federal judge.

U.S. District Judge Anna Brown said that someone who is on the list would remain there for an indefinite amount of time with no way to appeal their inclusion on the list. The judge concluded that international travel is not a privilege, rather a liberty that members of a free society have.

The no-fly list was started by the FBI's terrorist screening center in response to the terror attacks of 2001. Many people learned the hard way that if you were on the list, it was virtually impossible to get off.
