ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News channel 5) -- Teachers became the students today at the Summer Brain Drain event hosted by Alexandria Country Day School. This event helps keep teachers fresh during the inactive months of summer.

Teachers in attendance were treated to internationally-renowned speaker, Marcia Tate, who is an educational consultant. She has taught over 350,000 administrators, teachers, parents, and community leaders throughout the world and has also authored a book which is based on her teaching techniques. She has twenty techniques which helps all different types of students learn, whether they are visual or auditory learners. She also includes techniques for students that learn by touch or by moving around while learning.

"There's something on the list for everybody. So, this will help every single student not fall between the cracks," says Tate.

Tate spent the day educating local teachers about these teaching techniques by providing eye-opening examples of how the human brain processes information. Armed with these new techniques, local teachers feel they can better educate each individual child and help their brain process information in its own unique way.
