GPSO arrests two meth cooks

GRANT PARISH, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - Grant Parish deputies received a report of a methamphetamine lab in operation in the Verda community on June 28, 2014. 

When deputies arrived at the scene, two people ran. One of the suspects attempted to throw items into a fire that had been built in the yard. 

Deputies discovered all of the components necessary to manufacture methamphetamine along with liquid methamphetamine, according to GPSO.

Christopher Chad DeSoto, 37, of Dry Prong, was arrested for Possession of CDS II (crystal methamphetamine), Operation of a Clandestine Laboratory, Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Obstruction of Justice, Reckless Handling of Hazardous Materials, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Probation Violation.

Candy Ryan, 39, of Winnfield, was arrested for Operation of a Clandestine Laboratory, Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Reckless Handling of Hazardous Materials, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Obstruction of Justice.
