GPSO arrests two in kidnapping case

GRANT PARISH, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report that a child had been kidnapped from the Aloha community on June 28, 2014. 

Deputies soon identified two suspects and discovered that the child was already in Texas and was heading to San Antonio or Mexico. Detectives worked quickly to secure arrest warrants for the suspects. 

A Grant Parish deputy was able to make contact with one of the suspects by cell phone and convinced him to return to Louisiana. Both suspects were arrested in Natchitoches and then transported to Grant Parish Detention Center, according to GPSO. 

The rather elaborate plan involved the suspects using two rental cars and staging an overnight bag to make it appear as if they were staying at a residence in Grant Parish.

Dylan Patten, 42, of San Antonio, Texas, was arrested for Simple Kidnapping and an outstanding warrant.

Heather Patten, 30, of San Antonio, Texas, was arrested for Simple Kidnapping.
