TSA To Raise Security Fees On Airline Tickets

Posted: Updated:
(NBC) If you're flying this summer, get  ready to pay more. The Transportation Security Administration is raising passenger security fees effective July 21 at u-s airports.

The fees help fund T-S-A airport security efforts. Right now air travelers are paying 2-dollars-and-50-cents for each plane they take to get to a destination. The fee is capped at two plane rides each way.  But starting on the 21st., the T-S-A will start charging a flat fee of 5-dollars-and-60-cents each way, no matter how many planes you board en route.

Congress approved the higher fees as part of its bi-partisan budget deal last December.
