Outstanding academic achievements and exceptional promise secures PGCC students a place at University of Maryland this Fall.

Largo, MD (PRWEB) July 08, 2014

Prince George's Community College is proud to announce that exceptional student, Valencia A. Danner, has been named a Kelly Regents Scholar, and will attend the University of Maryland, College Park this Fall on a full scholarship. The Regents Scholars Program was established by the University System of Maryland Board of Regents to affirm its commitment to academic excellence and to enable students of exceptional ability to develop fully their intellectual and creative talents.

Valencia Danner is being awarded by the Kelly Regents Scholars Program because of her outstanding academic achievements and promise. The scholarship will cover the costs for in-state tuition and mandatory fees, living expenses comparable to university room and board charges, and a $500 stipend each semester for educational expenses. Maintaining a 3.5 grade point average and carrying twelve or more credit hours each semester will ensure the award is renewable.

"Prince George's Community College has been an amazing foundation for me, and I'm thrilled to be offered this very unique opportunity," said Valencia Danner. "I plan to work extremely hard at Maryland (College Park) and beyond in order to achieve my academic and professional dreams. This scholarship represents a new, open door for me that will make my college experience that much more valuable."
