More charges for Walmart purse snatching suspect

 RAPIDES PARISH, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – The man suspected of knocking out a woman and stealing her purse in the Pineville Walmart parking lot is behind bars.

The driver from the vehicle pursuit on July 11, 2014 at 1:30 p.m., involving a Silver Chevrolet Equinox, has been identified as Desmond Price, 36.

Alexandria Police tell us they have charged him with one count of Simple Robbery

Those charges follow a lengthy investigation into the robbery of an individual that occurred at the Alexandria Walmart located at 6225 Coliseum Blvd.

According to Judge Tom Yeager, Price's bond has been set at more than $1 million.

The Pineville Police Department along with Alexandria Police Department, U.S. Marshals and Probation and Parole were involved in the high speed pursuit with Price, who was driving a Silver Chevrolet Equinox.

The vehicle pursuit began in the 4400 block of Lee Street, Alexandria ending in the 500 block of Solomon Street, Alexandria where a foot pursuit ensued.  

**UPDATE Saturday, July 12** The Pineville Police Department has released their charges against Desmond Price for the attack and robbery in the Pineville Walmart parking lot. Those charges include: 2nd degree robbery (for the attack), simple burglary of another vehicle on the lot, aggravated flight, reckless operation of a vehicle, and not having a driver's license.
