Eight arrested in operation targeting sex offenders

BATON ROUGE, La. (KALB News Channel 5) — Undercover operation leads to eight child exploitation arrests.

In the latest effort to keep Louisiana children safe, the state’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force affiliates joined forces in arresting eight men for crimes related to the sexual exploitation of children.

Attorney General Buddy Caldwell’s Cyber Crime Unit led Louisiana ICAC task force affiliates comprised of local, state, and federal officials in the two week undercover initiative, which targeted offenders in the Shreveport-Bossier and Baton Rouge areas.

"Working together with our local, state and federal partners is essential in the fight to keep our kids safe from dangerous sexual predators who want to exploit and abuse our children," Attorney General Buddy Caldwell said in a press release following the arrests. "We remain committed to strengthening our cyber crime resources and abilities to further limit these atrocious acts."

The coordinated effort included members from the Louisiana Attorney General’s Cyber Crime Unit, Louisiana State Police, U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, Federal Bureau of Investigations, Bossier City Marshal’s Office, Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office, St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office, East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, East Baton Rouge District Attorney’s Office and Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.

While most of the eight arrests involve the possession or distribution of child pornography, one arrest includes charges of molestation and indecent behavior with a juvenile.

The following individuals were arrested during the operation:

Nicholas Istre of Baton Rouge was charged with Molestation of a Juvenile and Indecent Behavior with Juveniles.

Dane Brown of New Roads was charged one count Distribution and one count Possession of Pornography Involving Juveniles.

Lucas Marsh of Baton Rouge was charged with three counts of Distribution and 130 counts of Possession of Pornography Involving Juveniles.

Bolton Morris of Baton Rouge was charged with one count of Distribution of Pornography Involving Juveniles.

Trey Brown of Baton Rouge was charged with one count of Distribution of Pornography Involving Juveniles.

Kenneth Jurl of Bossier City was charged one count of Distribution and one count of Possession Pornography Involving Juveniles.

David Williford of Greenwood was charged with 30 counts of Distribution and one count of Possession Pornography Involving Juveniles.

Paul Woodell of Shreveport was charged with one count of Distribution of Pornography Involving Juveniles.
