GRANT PARISH, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report of a suspicious person sleeping in a storage building.

When the deputy arrived, he discovered Ashley Howell gathering her belongings, trying to leave. The deputy noticed a short plastic straw and a glass pipe that are commonly used for using narcotic drugs.

The deputy then discovered a large package that appeared to be methamphetamine. It was determined that it was actually anhydrous powder that Howell had been portraying and selling as methamphetamine.

Ashely Howell, 30 years old, of Ball, was arrested for Creating Counterfeit Dangerous Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
