Central Louisiana Forecast

SYNOPSIS...High pressure aloft will lead to low rain chances on Tuesday and Wednesday. Winds from the south and southwest will provide enough moisture near the ground to keep high humidity in the forecast. Warm temperatures, little cloud cover, and high humidity will lead to heat indices of more than 100 degrees.

TUESDAY...Mostly sunny, hot, and humid. Highs 94-100. The peak heat index may reach 107. A 10% chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm. South wind 2-6 mph.

TUESDAY NIGHT...Mostly clear skies and muggy. Lows 75-80. West-southwest wind 2-6 mph.

WEDNESDAY...Partly cloudy with oppressive heat. Highs 95-101. The peak heat index may reach 110. A 20% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms. A west wind early followed by a variable wind 3-8 mph.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT... Warm with mostly clear skies. Lows 75-79. A 10% chance of rain. Calm winds.

THURSDAY... Hot and humid. Partly cloudy skies with a 40% chance of rain as a cold front moves in. Northwest wind 2-6 mph.
