Louisiana College receives over $87,000 grant for classroom improvements
PINEVILLE, La. (KALB) - Good news for students at Louisiana College.
The college has received a more than $87,000 grant to improve classrooms and teaching facilities on campus.
LC has been chosen to receive the funds from the Louisiana Board of Regents out of over 150 total applications.
With the money, LC will renovate select classrooms in both Guinn Auditorium and the Bolton Chapel.
The upgrade to classroom furnishings will include seminar-type tables so that students will be able to work in group settings on different community and classroom projects.
Funds will also go towards technological advancements, such as live streaming and other capabilities.
“The technological upgrades will have an immediate impact because we will be better able to deliver information digitally, virtually so that when we are limited with space, not just in the classroom but for events as well, or if someone has to miss then they can have better access,” said Dr. Elizabeth Christian, College Communications Coordinator.
The college applied for the grant opportunity long before the pandemic.
LC has already received the grant money and work on classrooms will take place throughout the upcoming school year.
