ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - In what has become an annual tradition in Central Louisiana, local attorney Brian Caubarreaux announced the latest winners of his Do It Right Scholarship on Tuesday, June 8.

The first announced winner was Amya Flounoy from Waterproof. She is a 2021 graduate of Ferriday High School and plans to study Practical Nursing. The second winner was Caylon Beard from Trout. She is a 2021 graduate of Jena High School and also plans to study Practical Nursing.

The Do It Right Scholarship was established in March 2015 by Brian Caubarreaux and Associates. The winners will receive a full-ride scholarship that will cover all program costs, including tuition, fees, and books.

The scholarship is awarded based on need and merit by an independent panel of community leaders. A combination of attributes including student performance, drive, ability, need and a desire to seek a career and technical education from CLTCC are also included in the selection process.
