ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - Former Peabody graduate and current Ohio State guard Cedric Russell has declared for the 2022 NBA draft.

Russell made that announcement on his social media.

In his graduate season with the Buckeyes, Russell averaged just over four points per game while shooting close to 44 percent from the field. Prior to his time in Columbus, Russell’s shooting ranked among the best in the nation in his four years at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

The former Warhorse played in 124 games in his career with the Ragin Cajuns where he hit 266 three-pointers. In his last season in Lafayette, Russell scored over 17 points per game and was among the national leaders in three-point shooting making 40 percent of his shots.

Russell’s 2.92 three-pointers per game were ranked in the top 20 against all Division I players in 2020-2021.

The 2022 NBA Draft will be at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on June 23.
