SABINE, La. (KALB) -The Many Tigers softball team is heading to Sulphur - hoping to win back to back state title games.

The Tigers are the number one seed in Class 2A and on Friday, they will play the fourth seed Doyle in the semifinal round.

Head Coach Keaton Booker shared that he is excited for this group of girls to get a chance to repeat as champions.

“This group of girls has been going together since they were five years old,” said Booker. “So them accomplishing this again is amazing and it’s inspirational to me to watch them put their all into the game of softball.”

The leadership on this team has been a key part of their success this year.

“The seniors are the glue to the team and they mean business when they are on the field,” said Booker. “They are a fun group and they work hard day in and day out. We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for our six seniors.”

The Tigers’ main goal is to hold up that state trophy this weekend, but they don’t want to overlook the semifinal round on Friday.

“In the back of our minds, we won the state championship last year - but that’s not the case this year,” said Booker. “To win it all again, we have to have a different mindset. We have to put the past behind us and take care of business on Friday then do it again on Saturday.”
