Arrests made for Natchitoches homicide on July Street
NATCHITOCHES, La. (KALB) - The Natchitoches Police Department has made two arrests in connection with a homicide that happened on July Street on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
NPD said officers responded to the 800 block of July Street on Sept. 24 around 6:44 p.m. regarding gunshots in the area. It was determined that the victim, Matthew Daniels, 17, of Natchitoches, had left the area and was being transported to a local hospital. He was later pronounced dead at the medical center as a result of his injuries.
On Sept. 30, NPD said a 16-year-old juvenile was arrested without incident for second-degree murder. The juvenile was placed in a youth detention center in Jackson Parish.

On Oct. 1, NPD said Alasia Lashay Hamilton, 20, of Natchitoches, was arrested for second-degree murder in the case. She was placed in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.
