Colin Vedros joined the KALB news team in May 2023. Originally from Des Allemands, close to New Orleans, Colin graduated from Northwestern State University of Louisiana in May 2023, earning a bachelor's degree in communication. He was a key part of the introduction of the newly named Purple Media Network, NSU’s student media that encompasses the student newspaper (The Current Sauce), radio (KNWD) and yearbook (Potpourri).
During his senior year, he worked with NSU Athletics as a student worker in sports information, where he was the first student at NSU to commentate a live ESPN+ broadcast for the school. Colin commentated games for volleyball, men’s basketball and women’s soccer, including coverage of the 2022 Southland Conference Women’s Soccer Tournament in Natchitoches.
His interests include juggling, finding new television shows to watch, playing video games and trying new things. Colin is an avid New Orleans Saints fan, while also following the New Orleans Pelicans, LSU Tigers, NSU Demons and Houston Astros.
