Nigel Dyson

Nigel joined the KALB news team in August 2023. His focus is on sports at both prep and collegiate levels around the Cenla community.

Nigel is a proud first-generation graduate from Iowa State University. He graduated with a degree in Communications and a minor in journalism. As a student at Iowa State, Nigel was a manager for the basketball team, and participated in an opinion-based podcast on Iowa State Sports called “Cyclone InCyders”. Nigel also did his fair share of beat writing for both the Iowa State Men’s Golf Team at the Iowa State Daily and The Iowa State Men’s and Women’s basketball team for SB Nation. Nigel finished off his collegiate career with an Internship at CBS affiliate KCCI News in Des Moines, Iowa as a “sports department intern.” He was privileged enough to cover events like state wrestling, basketball, soccer and the first and second rounds of March Madness.

This is his first professional job out of college.

When Nigel is off the clock, he enjoys hanging out with friends and family, working out, playing basketball, playing video games and podcasting. Nigel’s secret talent is that he can play the drums by ear. He is a huge fan of the LA Lakers, LA Dodgers, Cleveland Browns, Duke Blue Devils and of course his alma mater, the Iowa State Cyclones. #RollClones
